The Rumbak region is home to a rich diversity of wildlife ranging from the snow leopards to tibetan wolves, blue sheep, asiatic ibex, ladakh urial and many more. Birds like the robin accentor, golden eagle, streaked rose-finch, tickell's leaf warbler, chukar, tibetan snow-finch, red-billed chough, himalayan snow-cock, common & fork-tailed swift, fire-fronted serin, twite etc. can all be seen here. From June to October, the true beauty of Rumbak is visible to everyone. The region springs to life with a myriad species of birds and animals that roam the valley. A variety of floral plants and shrubs also dot the landscape during this period.

November to April is the perfect time to spot the grey ghost - its mating time being Mid-February to End-March. Camouflaged perfectly against the powder white landscape, spotting a snow leopard once is going to hook you for life.
