Odpal George is a man of few words but a notable figure in both Bollywood and Advertising. After leaving his job at a travel agency in Delhi, he took the plunge and founded his own company, Himalayan Safaris a couple of decades ago. His goal was to facilitate film and commercial shoots in the stunning landscapes of Ladakh. Today, Odpal stands as the go-to person for all things related to visual media in this challenging yet picturesque location.

While Odpal George may be at the pinnacle of his career, the role of a line producer in such an unforgiving terrain is demanding. Armed with decades of adventurous experiences - many of which were firsts in the region, he is the visionary behind the Rumbak Wildlife Lodge, leveraging his extensive knowledge of the terrain and culture, thereby tapping into the best that Ladakh has to offer.

Not only has Odpal successfully crafted a signature resort in the village of Saboo, but he is also a firm advocate for rural enrichment. Lobzang Namgyal

Meet Lobzang, our seasoned spotter, whose journey began as a ponyman guiding trekkers through the summer months. In winter, he joined documentary filmmakers on snow leopard expeditions in the Rumbak valley. With over 25 years of expertise, Lobzang has collaborated with renowned naturalists, been featured in BBC, National Geographic, and numerous international documentaries. A vital asset in spotting elusive cats and golden eagle nests, Lobzang now leads Rumbak village. Despite his role as head, his passion for spotting and mentoring local youth remains undiminished.

Tashi Stanzin

Tashi is a proud resident of Rumbak village whose connection with the land started from the age of 15 years. In the summer months, he treks the mighty passes, guiding trekkers with his trusty ponies. When not on the trail, Tashi tends to his farm. Come winter, he transforms into an invaluable asset for groups seeking the elusive Snow Leopard. With an intimate knowledge of the rugged terrain, navigating gorges and scaling mountain heights, Tashi boasts a remarkable success rate in spotting the elusive 'grey ghost'.

Tsewang Dorjey

An integral part of the Rumbak Wildlife Lodge is Tsewang, a proud resident of Rumbak village. His journey as a wildlife spotter began 14 years ago when he started as a helper. Fueled by curiosity and an eagerness to learn, he delved into the world of lenses and spotting. Today, Tsewang stands as a seasoned spotter, actively engaged in aiding different groups on the quest to spot the elusive cat. Despite his success and experience, Tsewang remains rooted in Rumbak, feeling a strong connection to his village and a deep desire to be with his family.

Karamjeet Singh

Karamjeet Singh, a devoted wildlife photographer and naturalist hailing from Kargil, Ladakh is an undisputed expert of the region. Inspired by Ladakh's breathtaking landscapes, Karamjeet ventures into remote corners, tirelessly documenting the region's diverse biodiversity - from elusive creatures to vibrant avian species. With an astute eye for detail and unmatched patience, Karamjeet's photography unveils the raw beauty and inherent grace of Ladakh's wildlife.
